I was honoured to have been shortlisted in December this year as Finalist at the UK Jewellery Awards 2020 as ‘Designer of the Year’!
It has been a tough year for all of us, not just in the jewellery industry and to have this nomination has given us a real sense of achievement despite these challenges.
This year unlike all previous years where the event is a black-tie dinner, often held at the Hilton or Dorchester Hotels in London, this year went online due to COVID-19 restrictions. I sat at home with my glass of champagne, all dressed up, at the edge of my seat gleaning at my computer screen waiting for the results! It was quite a surreal situation!
Earlier on in the year, I had an interview and had to select various items from my collection to talk about and describe. I spoke about my cufflinks which are very unique, our Balloon Dog cufflinks which have a cute bone at the back, also our unique reversible cufflinks like the Tourbillon cufflinks which spin or rotate.
I also spoke about my bespoke side of the business and how we also manufacture for other brands under their label, something we have been doing for nearly 20 years.
